Toyota/Hybrid Farm to Table Tour Saturday October 17, 2009 Come and join Louisiana Culinary Institute (LCI) at The Red Stick Farmers Market on Saturday October 17th for the Toyota/Hybrid Farm to Table Tour, a nationwide tour showcasing selected farmers markets from around the country. The goal of the tour is to bring awareness and show the importance of buying fresh local product from Louisiana vendors, growers, and farmers. LCI’s own Chef Instructor Pat Mahon along with LCI students will be serving fresh and delectable lettuce wraps in Tent 3 at 8:30am until 9:30am. Continue reading...

National Hunting and Wildlife DayLouisiana Culinary Institute Helps With CelebrationsNational Hunting and Fishing Day is Saturday, Sept. 27, and in Baton Rouge, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will mark the day with its 24th annual celebration at Waddill Wildlife Refuge, 4142 N. Flannery Road, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Louisiana Culinary Institute (LCI) will have student volunteers and staffs help with this event. LCI will prepare Venison and Duck to serve to the public.

Home Plate Classic IX ResultsTeam Yellow's sweet victoryLouisiana Culinary Institute (LCI) and the guest judges would like to congratulate both teams for participating in the final round of the Home Plate Classic IX, held on July 17th. Although it was a tough and close decision the Yellow Team was victorious over the Green Team. Peaches were the mystery ingredient for this year's classic Each team did an outstanding job and this competition will go down in history as one of the closest scored Home Plate Classics.
