Director of Compliance & CFO 
April is the Chief Financial Officer for Louisiana Culinary Institute. She is also an owner of BRQ Barbeque and Seafood Restaurant in Baton Rouge. April's responsibilities at Louisiana Culinary Institute range in scope. She ensures accreditation and legal compliance for the school. She also assists with curriculum compliance and development and plays a major role in budgeting and fiscal decisions. If that isn't enough, April also oversees most of the employees at LCI, and she occasionally teaches management, psychology and english courses at the school. She also ensures accrediEducation. 

April attended the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts for high school in Natchitoches, LA. She attended LSU for her undergrad studies and graduated with a BS in English and Psychology. After graduating, she pursued a Law Degree at Loyola University of Chicago where she earned a Juris Doctor, Health Law Certificate, Masters of Law degree (LL.M.). 

April held several positions at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services including Special Assistant. She oversaw the group plan during the implementation of Part D benefit and earned several distinguished awards for Part D work, Change of Ownership work and other projects. During her time at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, April was a part of an exclusive group that did outreach on Part D, with members of state and US Congress.
 
If she is not at LCI or BRQ, April donates her time to the Baton Rouge Emergency Aid Coalition (BREAC). She is the co-founder of the organization which consists of a group of 6 moms that formed after the 2016 Flood in Baton Rouge. BREAC aided several groups affected by the 2016 flood and is actively working to aid Hurricane victims in Houston and Florida. 
 
LCI Foundation – trustee for LCI Foundation; administer scholarships to graduates and need-based scholarships; assist with feeding the hungry (a portion of the mission statement).
 
In 2003, April moved back to Baton Rouge from Chicago to concentrate on and be closer to her family. April is married with two little boys.
